My ideal job

My ideal job is to get paid for doing nothing. Doesn’t everyone want that? I can’t imagine someone who loves to work, even when you are working in your “ideal job”. Why does everyone in this world have to work? Since I was a little girl I always hated the idea of working, but here I’m studying journalism just to end up working as a journalist.

As the world doesn’t go the way I want to, if I could chose my ideal job it would probably be as a foreign correspondent in a mayor news network like CNN, BBC or Aljazeera. Even when I said that I don’t want to work at all, when in 2001 I was in my home watching on my television the collapse of the World Trade Center, I knew in that moment that I want to be a foreign correspondent.

I think I would me amazing in that job just cause I would love it. Just imagine myself travel around the world meeting new cultures, new people, new realities is something I’m really passionate about. The traits and skills I would need for this job are patience, preciseness, motivation, determination and of course good human relations skills. Besides the language, I would probably need to improve my English and learnt other idioms.

I’m not saying or thinking that this job would be easy; on contrary obviously it would be really dangerous. Usually, foreign correspondents have to go to wars, visit places with political instability or infiltrating drug cartels, etc. So I would be putting my life on risk, but as I heard once: “If you die, that’s already the end. You have to fight to survive”.
