A skill I need to master

A skill I need to master it’s my punctuality. I’m always late, well sometimes I arrived on time to very important appointments like job interviews or interviews for an article –cause I’m studying journalism. But the most of the time I’m late for class, for dates with my friends, for date with my study group and even for my job, but in that case it’s not much just like fifteen minutes but I’m late anyway so I really need to improve that.

My friends at the university really hate that I’m never on time, but I think they get used to a little. They always tell me about thirteen minutes before the real time we’re going to meet so they don’t have to wait for me that much. The funny thing is when I’m actually on time, especially when we have class presentations, they get really surprise and always say “It’s going to rain today!”

I don’t know if been on time in every situation is actually a skill, but as I never really master my punctuality I think I should really work on it.

A country I'd love to visit

If I had to choose only one country I’d like to visit any time soon, I would probably say Korea, South Korea to be exactly. Even when I would love to travel around Asia, because I’m obsessed with this continent and its own culture, I would just be really happy visiting Korea for the first time.

I know very little about South Korea, just the basics stuff like the history of the Division of Korea after the World War II and the conflicts that both Koreas have until now. Besides the history, because I watch a lot of Korean dramas, I know a little bit about their culture like they have a huge respect for the old people and they are really careful in the way they talk to each others.

There I’d like to visit a lot of museums and castles, because they have this very long history of dynasties that we know very little about. Also, I’d like to learn their language and take an Asian History class at the Seoul National University that is the best university of South Korea.

I would love to live in South Korea, work there as a foreign correspondent and learn a lot about de Asian Culture.

My ideal job

My ideal job is to get paid for doing nothing. Doesn’t everyone want that? I can’t imagine someone who loves to work, even when you are working in your “ideal job”. Why does everyone in this world have to work? Since I was a little girl I always hated the idea of working, but here I’m studying journalism just to end up working as a journalist.

As the world doesn’t go the way I want to, if I could chose my ideal job it would probably be as a foreign correspondent in a mayor news network like CNN, BBC or Aljazeera. Even when I said that I don’t want to work at all, when in 2001 I was in my home watching on my television the collapse of the World Trade Center, I knew in that moment that I want to be a foreign correspondent.

I think I would me amazing in that job just cause I would love it. Just imagine myself travel around the world meeting new cultures, new people, new realities is something I’m really passionate about. The traits and skills I would need for this job are patience, preciseness, motivation, determination and of course good human relations skills. Besides the language, I would probably need to improve my English and learnt other idioms.

I’m not saying or thinking that this job would be easy; on contrary obviously it would be really dangerous. Usually, foreign correspondents have to go to wars, visit places with political instability or infiltrating drug cartels, etc. So I would be putting my life on risk, but as I heard once: “If you die, that’s already the end. You have to fight to survive”.
